Since Amazon launched in Australia, Amazon.com.au now has over 10,000 sellers on the site.
According to the report by Marketplace Pulse, it has doubled in size from 5,000 sellers in January and signs up an average of around 80 sellers per day.
The data analysis further reports that Amazon Australia is expected to reach 50,000 marketplace sellers by the end of 2018. This would mean increasing the average new seller sign up per day to 140.
eSeller Café suggest that there are two main factors that will contribute to the increase of the daily sign up rate of new sellers on Amazon Australia
- Amazon Australia just launched Amazon FBA in Australia. While there is still only one warehouse in the country, there is possibility of a second or third facility opening by the end of 2018.
- Observers believe that Amazon Prime is not far from launching in Australia. At this stage, Amazon shoppers receive free shipping if their order exceeds $49. With an Amazon Prime Membership, Amazon is expected to bring free shipping to virtually any order size and offer expedited shipping services to many part of the country.
Since the launch of Amazon FBA, there has been over 1,000 sellers already storing someone of their inventory. This is a great outcome as in the first two months of Amazon launching, sellers on Amazon reportedly struggled with getting their products to their customers in a timely manner.
Amazon is continuing to take Australia by storm, there is no doubt that it offers incredible opportunities for sellers and that it will continue to grow throughout the year.
